Setting up surveys on Hotjar

Surveys are a fantastic way to get feedback from your website visitors, but it's important to remember that when you first create a survey it will be in Inactive (draft) mode until you set it to Active in the final step of the creation process.

How to setup suveys on Hotjar?

  • Click on the “New Survey” button on the top right-hand side of your Surveys page.
  • In the “Details” section, enter a name and description for your survey. Note: these details will not be visible to your users.
  • Select a “Location” for your survey.
  • Add the questions you’d like to ask your users.
  • Modify the appearance of your survey.
  • In the “Targeting” section, configure the conditions for showing your survey.
  • Define the behavior of your survey.
  • Enable “Forward Response” to be notified when a user responds to your survey.
  • Finish creating your survey by clicking “Active” and then click “Create Survey”.
